Course Description

Phonons, free electrons, energy bands in solids, transport phenomena. Semiconductors. P-n junction, bipolar junction transistor, FET transistors and MOSFETs. Thyristor, optoelectronic devices. CMOS technology. CMOS inverter and CMOS gates. Memory cells. Static random access memory (SRAM) and dynamic random access memory (DRAM). Introduction to VLSI design.
