Access


The Department’s Secretariat as well as the offices of teaching and adinistrative personnel are located at the building complex of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in Kimmeria area of Xanthi. On the same location the teaching of all courses is accomplished while the laboratory activity of the Department takes place at the single complex of prefabricated buildings of the Faculty of Engineering in the center of the city. A more detailed description of the infrastructure can be found on the page Faculties of this website. Being in Xanthi city without a car of your own, you can still access the university by bus. There are various bus stations in the city to get you here.   

By car:

    • From Thessaloniki to Xanthi (219 km). Driving on Egnatia Highway from Thessaloniki to Xanthi, you pass both Nestos bridge and the West Exit to Xanthi. Take the East Exit to Xanthi and move straight ahead until the East Entrance of the city. Please be careful not to drive to Porto Lagos (old national highway).

    • From Komotini and Alexandroupoli to Xanthi. Driving on Egnatia Highway, take the East Exit to Xanthi and move straight ahead until the East Entrance of the city. 

    • Being in Xanthi. Being in the East of Xanthi city you drive until the railroad intersection. If you continue straight ahead you will reach the center of Xanthi, while turning right you will get to Kimmeria area. 



By bus:

There are regular bus routes from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Drama and Komotini to Xanthi. Information: Xanthi Bus Services, tel. +30 25410 27200. Visit the website here.

By airplane:

    • From Kavala airport. After landing there, you drive to Xanthi via Egnatia Highway (about 25km). You can rent a car or take a taxi to Xanthi directly or go first to Chryssoupolis and take the bus to Xanthi. Information: Megas Alexandros Kavala airport, tel. +30 25910 53400

    • From Alexandroupolis airport. After landing there, you drive to Xanthi about 120km. You can rent a car or take a taxi to get to Xanthi directly. Alternatively, you can reach the city by train or by bus. Information: Democritus Alexandroupolis airport, tel. +30 25510 89314



By railway:

    • There are regular railway routes from Athens and Thessaloniki to Xanthi. Information: TRENOSE SA, tel. +30 14511
