The Sector of Telecommunications and Space covers the subject of Electromagnetic Theory, Wave Propagation, Ionospheric and Space Plasma, Atmospheric Ionospheric and Magnetospheric EM disturbances, the Interaction of Fields and Particles, Microwaves and Microwave Applications, Waveguides, Antennas, Radar, Satellite Telecommunications, Space Electrodynamics, Remote Sensing, Wired and Wireless Telecommunications, Analog and Digital Telecommunications Systems, Optical Communications Systems, Applications of Communication Systems and Information Theory in Telecommunications (Official Gazette 184/1983). Since its formation, the subjects of scientific research of the Sector of Telecommunications and Space Science have also been expanded to include the areas of Satellite Subsystem design, Space data systems, space experiments, Bioelectromagnetism, Modem Design with DSP, Digital Radio Systems (DAB), Design and Simulations of Integrated and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MICs and MMICS), the mobile phone, Electromagnetic Compatibility, etc.
