IEEE Student Branch

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

The local organizational units include the IEEE Greece Section, the IEEE Greece Chapters, and the IEEE Student Branches of universities throughout Greece.

In Democritus University of Thrace, the IEEE Democritus University of Thrace Student Branch (IEEE DUTH SB) has been founded and operating from 2000 in the city of Xanthi.

The mission of the IEEE DUTH SB is to provide students with additional opportunities for academic, technological and professional development. Its activities include research and technology teams, talks and educational trips, aiming to inform students on topics associated with Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The operation of the IEEE DUTH SB is based on the cooperative and voluntary action of students from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Democritus University of Thrace, and has been globally distinguished with multiple awards.

IEEE DUTH SB includes five Chapters in cooperation with the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES), the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), IEEE Computer Society (CS), the IEEE Computer Society (CS), and the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE).
