- Student Residences
Student Residences consist of a large number of rooms that are distributed in buildings within the University Campus and in the city center. There is also a restaurant with a capacity of 1,000 people. On the University Campus there is an amphitheater for about 700 people, managed by the University. Criteria for admission to the Student Residences are the financial situation in relation to the number of members of the student’s family and other criteria, defined by the Senate of DUTH. Applications with the relevant supporting documents are submitted for new entrants during enrollment in the respective Departments. No application is accepted beyond this deadline.
- Academic ID – Ticket Student Card
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Education from the academic year 2011-12, the issue/distribution and the eligibility criteria of the ticket student card have changed. More specifically, students will submit their student card application electronically via the website https://submit-academicid.minedu.gov.gr using their personal university passwords from the portal https://unistudent.duth.gr/main.asp. After the application is approved, the students will be able to receive their student card from the delivery point, which they had selected during their application. Delivery points are stores, pre-determined by the card contractor. The final cost for the student card, amounts to 2.56 euros (including VAT). The new student id is similar to a credit card and it will meet all modern specifications, with integrated photo of the beneficiary, a special security hologram and all details printed in Latin characters (for use abroad). The beneficiaries of the new student id – ticket student card are:
- Students of the first cycle of studies (Diploma students) if they have not exceeded n + 2 years of study (where n is the duration provided in the indicative study program),
- Students of the second cycle of studies (Masters students) for as many years as their study lasts, according to the indicative study program and
- Students of the third cycle of studies (PhD students), for 4 years from the date of their registration.
It should be noted that students over the age of twenty-nine (29) on the day of the application or who have been admitted with qualifying examinations are not eligible for a ticket student card. In addition, the termination of the student status for any reason automatically entails the cessation of the right of possession of the card, which in this case is returned to the secretariat of the relevant department. Each Secretariat is connected to the Central Information System through a special online application from which it can monitor students’ applications. First-year students will be able to use public transport until September 30th, with the corresponding discounts, upon presentation of the certificate of enrollment in the Department, which is issued by the Secretariats and their police ID, until they receive their official card.
- Student Restaurant
Free meals are provided to the students of the ECE Department under certain conditions. Information on the categories of students who are entitled to free meals, as well as the required supporting documents and application dates are provided by the Xanthi Student Welfare Office.
