Ioannis Andreadis, Dip.-Eng., M.Sc., Ph.D., FInstMC, FIET

Ioannis Andreadis received the Diploma Degree from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, in 1983 [1978-1983 State Scholarship] and the M.Sc. [Electrical Power Systems Engineering] and Ph.D. [Machine Vision] Degrees from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology, UK, in 1985 and 1989, respectively. His research interests are mainly in electronic systems design, intelligent systems and machine vision. In these areas he has published some 230 refereed publications in book chapters, international journals and conferences. He was awarded the IET Image Processing Premium in 2009. He received the best paper award (Computer Vision & Applications) in PSIVT 2007 and the best paper award in EUREKA 2009. He is author of an Institute of Physics “Select Paper” in 2010. He has supervised 14 Ph.D. Theses, 21 M.Sc. Theses and 88 Diploma Dissertations. He has served as reviewer for leading scientific journals in his areas of interest as well as member of Program Technical Committees of premier conferences. Professor Andreadis was a member of the Board of Governors of the European Commission Joint Research Center (JRC) from 2008-2010. He is Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (2006, IET, London, UK) and the Institute of Measurement & Control (2021, InstMC, London, UK).
