Course Description

Sensor categories, basic operation principle and terminology. Introduction to micromechanic technology.  Sensors: Thermal (thermocouples, thermoresistors, thermodiodes, IR detectors), sound (SAW sensors), mechanical (capacitance, inductor sensors, supersonic, thermal and piezoelectric sensors), magnetic (Hall sensors, magnetotransistors), radiation (photoresistors, photodiodes, IR detectors, pyroelectric sensors), chemical (chemoresistors, chemocapacitors, ISFET) and biosensors. Intelligent Sensors.
