Course Description |

Basic principles of the operation and practical application of: a) wireless links: point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, wireless local area networks (WLAN), mobile communications, satellite and terrestrial microwave and satellite links, b) Wired links, particularly local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), c) optical links, d) terrestrial and satellite systems for broadcasting radio and television programs, e) radar system and g) Indicative telematics systems. Due to the broad area of the subject, only representative wireless, wired and typical optical systems are analyzed, with emphasis on the block diagram level (system level). During the course, the functions and basic features of each step are described. The behavior and performance of the system are defined by the power budget and bandwidth (rise time). For each of the other systems in each category the practical applications and performances are analyzed. |
