Course Description

Introduction to static power conversion and its applications; Switching principles of passive components; Principles of Power Electronic devices (power Diode, SCRs, power MOSFET, IGBT, IGCT); Analysis of basic rectifying topologies (single and three phase); Analysis of static power convertesion for multiple quadrants of operation; Generation of harmonic pollution and filter design; Introduction to simulation of power electronic converters.
