Course Description

Technological advancements of electrical machines in time. Transformers: Basic operating principles, single-phase transformers, auto-transformers, voltage regulating transformers, measurement transformers, three-phase transformers. DC machines: Assembly, operating principle, operating characteristics, applications. Alternating current machines: Synchronous machines: assembly, operating principle, cylindrical rotor and salient pole machines, applications. Induction Machines (three-phase and single phase): Assembly, Operating Principle, cage and wound rotor configurations, applications.
