Course Description

Basic definitions and problems of Electromagnetic Compatibility. Methods of solving interference problems. Standards and specifications. Overview of electromagnetic compatibility: Near and far field approximations, wave propagation in waveguides and in simple and multilayered materials. Shielding theory and applications. Spectral analysis and antenna theory in electromagnetic compatibility. Prediction and measurements of radiation field. Important factors in the design of electromagnetic compatibility circuits: Grounding, passive components and filters, isolation and suppression techniques.
