| Introduction – Overview of electric drive and power generation systems. Physical and mechanical elements. Electrical and mechanical loads, characteristic torque – speed curves. Drive systems, gear units. Modeling and simulation of dynamic behavior of transformers. Typical DC motor operating curves. Speed control, startup, braking and corresponding devices for driving DC motors and their applications. Modeling and simulation of dynamic behavior of DC motors for electric drives and power generation. Special categories of DC motors, control and applications (“Universal”, dual current motors, permanent magnet DC motors, servomotors, Brushless DC motors, etc.). Introduction to Programmable Controllers (PLCs). Programming languages (STL, LADDER). | ||
