| Digital systems and computers. Arithmetic systems. Binary numbers and complements. Logic gates. Signed and un-signed binary numbers. Boolean algebra. Definitions, theorems and postulates of Boolean algebra. Boolean functions. Algebraic manipulation. Canonical and standard forms. Digital logic gates. Gate level minimization. The Karnaugh map method. Don’t care conditions. Hardware description languages (HDL). Verilog. Combinational circuits. Analysis and synthesis of combinational digital circuis. Binary adder-subtractor. Full adder, parallel adder. Carry look-ahead. Binary magnitude comparators, encoders, decoders, multiplexers, de-multiplexers. Data paths. Design with MSI and LSI ICs. Synchronous sequential digital systems. Flip-Flops. Analysis and synthesis of sequential digital circuis. Truth tables and state diagrams. Design with D, J-K and T-type F/Fs.
