Short CV

Dr. Iraklis Spiliotis received the diploma of Electrical Engineer in 1989 and the PhD degree in 2007, both from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (EECE) of the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Greece.

Between 1992 to 2003, worked as IT and telecommunications engineer. Since 2004 he is with the EECE Department of DUTH as Laboratory Teaching staff. He served as visiting Lecturer at the Departmentd of Production and Management Engineering, DUTH and at the Technological Educational Institute of Kavala, Greece.

His research interests are focused in fast algorithms for computer vision and image analysis and in parallel processing. He participated in a number of RTD projects.

He has experience in parallelization of algorithms for implementation using MPI and OpenMP. Also he has experience in the administration of HPC clusters, in digital circuit design with VHDL and he is competend in programming with C/C++ and Matlab.
